Erika has a background in both psychology and education as well as over a decade of experience with children of all ages in the field of education and child development. She takes pride in truly getting to know her students and providing differentiated instruction that helps them utilize their strengths to overcome challenges. Erika applies a number of instructional strategies to build resilience and develop a growth mindset including modelling, scaffolded release of responsibility, positive reinforcement, goal setting, planning, and reflection.
After learning more about Kaizen, Erika fell in love with how well it aligned with her belief that every child is a competent, capable, and unique individual who can achieve great success when empowered by the right tools. She works alongside students to help them discover their personal strengths, interests, and areas of growth. Erika’s goal is to equip each student with the skills of self-knowledge, self-confidence, and self-advocacy that they need to prepare them for lifelong success and happiness.
